Super Heroes respond to call for Make-A-Wish

Catena Creations once again was asked to be the event photographer at the Super Cruiser Ride 2014. This event is a fund-raiser for Make-A-Wish Nebraska. Last year’s event raised enough money to fund two wishes for children.

Captain Underpants rides up to the Leavenworth Bar for the second stop.

For the second year of this event, the start time was moved back from 3 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. This gave everyone more time to complete the ride and hit the stops along the way. Omaha Police were there to block the exit from Midtown Crossing so riders could take off safely.

I took photos of each rider as they came in to register. Most of them dressed as their favorite superheroes — with some very creative twists! Captain Underpants was one of the day’s favorites.

I then moved on to the second stop on the ride, which was at Leavenworth Bar. They were set up for an outdoor bar and drink specials for the riders.

A bright spot in the morning was running into Chuck Dorwart and his family. Chuck, an attorney and owner of  Lifeplan Nebraska, is a member of my Sarpy Chamber TIPS Group. He and his wife and son had been having breakfast at Delice, and came down to the park to check out the festivities.

A few photos from the ride are posted here. All the photos are posted in my SmugMug gallery. They will eventually be posted on the Super Cruiser Ride website.

  1. The fund raiser program seems to be a great success. It will definitely bring to pass the wishes of the children with its Make-A-Wish Program.
